Does this sound like you?

You are motivated to lose weight, you do great for 3-5 weeks then you have an event during the weekend. At this event you either drink, overeat or end up doing some combination of both. You feel horrible about it so you decide to be “super strict” this coming week.

I can promise you that you aren’t alone in this venture.

Let me tell you a story about a client named Alex.

Alex is someone I have known for a few years now. He was always an active person but from his own admission, he was overweight. Alex never ate “bad” or “unhealthy” he just was not consistent. This isn’t a slight on him, he would tell you those same words. Hell, those are his exact words from one of our check-ins. ( this probably sounds like you again)

Alex had talked to me here and there about some nutrition or fitness ideas/topics over the years. I never pushed him, as a friend that’s not my job. If he wanted any help he knew he could always come to me. About a year and a half ago he finally decided to ask for some help. This was huge for two reasons

  1. I knew he could do this he just needed some support

  2. he was highly motivated

Alex had some ambitious goals to lose 30lbs over the next 6 months. He came in with a fire lit in him, I tried to temper those goals but decided to let it play out and remind him of how things would work out. Long story short about a year in he hit his goal of losing 30lbs. During this time he went on vacation, took trips with friends, had a very robust social life ( more than normal in his words) and moved apartments. He was getting compliments from people like

“I didn’t even recognize you”

“you look like a different person”

“you look incredible”

The list goes on and on. But the biggest thing for him was that he never gave up. He had every reason to throw in the towel and quit like he had in the past. He made a promise to me that he wouldn’t and all I had to do was remind him of that.

Want to know how he made all this progress and kept it going?

It was simple nutrition tips done over a long period of time.

He didn’t try to hack his way into this. He didn’t expect fast results. He just put his head down and lost .6lbs per week for 52 weeks.

Sorry if you were expecting anything different but simple wins 10/10 when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off.
