Your simple guide to supplements

Let's talk about supplements for a minute. What ones do you need, what ones work, and what ones don't work? Im going to keep this as general as possible since we all have different needs. If you have questions on certain ones shoot me a message back and we can go deeper into it

Let's get this out of the way first. You are not a bodybuilder. Stop taking supplements like you are one. I know it sounds awesome to get all these benefits from all these different supplements but what is the cost of this? If you're reading this you are most likely someone who exercises to look/feel good naked or someone who is semi-competitive in CrossFit or racing. The fringe benefits you will get from most of the body-building supplements most likely aren't what you need.

You might be asking “ Well Mike, what supplements do I need then?”

For the majority of people that I picture I am writing to you will all benefit from

  • Protein powder

  • Pre-workout

  • Electrolytes

  • Multivitamin

  • creatine

You can do all of this for under $100 a month. If you're smart youll go to a club store to get your multi, electrolytes, and protein powder( please do not buy Muscle Pharm, i’ll buy you something better. Im serious. Send me a message or a receipt of whatever protein you want to try instead). That alone might cost you $100 in that trip but the club store sizes will last you well over 2 months on most of those items. This leaves you with ~$50 on creatine and a pre-workout. You can get a pretty good pre for $40 and then spend the rest on creatine.

This will cover all of your bases for any nutrient deficiencies, ensuring you're getting enough protein to build muscle and ensuring you are hydrated enough to push through even the toughest of workouts.

If you still aren't sold look at this chart I give every new client. Supplements make up 5% of your total needs. If you focus on supplements over, calories, macros or even meal timing then you are stepping over $100 bill for a $5 bill.
