Everyone and their damn cousin thinks weightloss will solve their issues
When it comes to getting our dream bodies, everyone ( and I mean everyone) always says I want to lose X number of pounds. For a long time, this was a very SMART goal. It was time bound and there was an achievable number for you to lose. As time has passed, nutritionists, coaches, and dieticians have gotten smarter and realized that people don't want to lose weight; they want to lose fat.
Well, what's the difference?
It's pretty simple and most of you will skip over this sentence because you think you know. Losing weight is the process of having the scale go down. Losing body fat is the process of, you guessed it, losing body fat. The main difference between the two is that fat loss may not change the scale you want.

I am a huge fan of having people aim for fat loss over weight loss ( unless their doctor says they need to lose weight).
Why?
Well, fat loss is easier and it's going to give you the look you want most likely. Like I said before if you claim you want to lose X number of pounds, you just associate that with fat loss. In reality, if you could lose x% of body fat and keep the scale around the same number you'd be pretty happy. Almost every weight loss client i have worked with has admitted to thinking losing weight was the only way to lose body fat.
3 ways you can make fat loss easier.
While fat loss is not always the easiest thing to achieve, there are 3 things you can do to speed up the process. -
Eat more protein
While this is a simple thing that you have heard me say 100000 times, it's a super easy way to increase your fat loss. Foods high in protein are usually more filling so it is very hard to overeat these foods. When it comes to digestion, high-protein foods take more energy to digest. So for every 100 calories of protein you eat, roughly 70 of those calories get digested.
Lift weights
Lifting weights has tremendous benefits when it comes to fat loss. Adding muscle mass to your body will increase your BMR and cause you to burn more calories to maintain that muscle. 1lb of muscle will always need more energy ( calories) to maintain compared to body fat

Walk more
Everyone always assumes that running is the only form of cardio that will reduce body fat. They are dead wrong. The only way cardio can be used for fat loss is when it's done consistently. Walking is a form of cardio. Consistently walking will help you get to your fat loss goal faster than you think.
